Vandara Hot springs is located on the foothills of Rincon de la Vieja Volcano,just 15 miles away from Liberia city, as soon as we arrive the staff receive us with a delicious welcome cocktail,that will work as fuel for the first activity,the horseback riding begins as soon as we have our equipment on (helmets), we walk to the stable and the experienced guides help us get on the horses,real costarican cowboys lead us through the forest for about 15 minutes,having the chance to be close to nature as we ride docile and beautiful horses.
We finish our horseback riding at the first platform of the zip line,which is our second activity, once there the zip line guides help us with our canopy equipment and give us a briefing on the things we should know before we go on the zip line,this zip line consist in 11 platforms of varying heights, where you will have the unique opportunity of seeing amazing landscapes of the forest and rivers.

Right after the canopy activity we change our clothes and get ready for the water slide, the guide will provide the equipment necessary for this activity, this is a refreshing sensation in the middle of the forest.

It’s time for lunch but we head first to the trapiche(ancient sugar mill) area where you’ll learn about Costa Rica and Guanacaste traditions, such as the preparation of corn based breads like tortillas and the use of the “Fogon” (wood burning kitchen) and “Horno de Barro” (Clay oven) and the preparation of sugar using the antique sugar mill system, you can try also some sugar cane juice or a shot of liquor from the sugar cane.
We will have a gourmet lunch prepared with organics products harvested in their own gardens,always giving to each dish a costarican style.

The final activity would be the mudbath and hotsprings, here you will rub some volcanic mud on your bodies and let it dry for a while taking advantage of its benefits,you can remove the mud using the showers or going to the refreshing waters of the Tizate river for a more natural experience, after this you will have the chance to enjoy the 47 degrees Celsius, (116,6 degrees Fahrenheit) natural heated pools where you can relax before heading back to your hotels.
