Half Day Trip
4 hours 7am-11am
In-Shore Fishing
Snacks & Drinks (water, juices, sodas, and national beer)
Roosterfish, Mahi-Mahi, Tuna, Snapper, Grouper
The perfect morning activity during your vacation in Costa Rica, Half Day Sport Fishing Trips start after breakfast and get you back by lunch. In-Shore fishing is great for pursuing the prize catch of Papagayo Bay – The Roosterfish! We can also go for fish that you can eat, such as Tuna and Snapper. Or if you really want to go for Mahi-Mahi, a Half Day Trip is enough time to get out to the Dorado. Roosterfish and Mahi-Mahi are not in the same place, though, so if you want both, we recommend a 3/4 Day Trip or Full Day Trip. As with any of out trips, we remind you that they are your Private Charter. We always have snorkel gear on board, so if you want to explore some beaches or hop in the water, feel free!
3/4 Day Trip
6 hours 7am – 1pm
In-Shore/Off-Shore Fishing
Snacks & Drinks (water, juices, sodas, and national beer)
Mahi-Mahi, Sailfish, Roosterfish, Tuna, Snapper, Grouper, Wahoo, Jack
The 3/4 Day Trip is our Goldilocks trip for a lot of our clients. With the extra two hours, we can pursue a wider variety of fish during your charter and mix in some Deep Sea Fishing. That means we can head to the northside of Papagayo Bay and hit the Sailfish spots, land Wahoo, and Amberjack. You get in deep sea fishing, jigging, casting, and trolling. We also have time to prepare ceviche or sashimi right on board if you catch Tuna, Mahi-Mahi, or Red Snapper. This is also a great amount of time for those want a half-and-half trip of Sport Fishing and Beach Hopping. Fish first thing in the morning, and rest in a hammock on a breezy beach in the early afternoon – what more can you wish for?
Full Day Trip
8 hours
7am – 3pm
In-Shore/Off-Shore Fishing
Full Lunch, Snacks, & Drinks (water, juices, sodas, and national beer)
Marlin, Sailfish, Mahi-Mahi, Tuna, Snapper, Roosterfish, Jack, Wahoo, Grouper, Rainbow Runner
The Avid Angler’s Trip. The Full Day Trip puts you in the currents of the Big Game Billfish. Marlin, Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, and Mahi-Mahi are the prize catches of a full day on the Papagayo Bay. We catch live bait first, run up north fast to get right on the fish, then hit it hard trolling with all lines out, hoping to float the billfish. It’s not unusual to have multiple hooks at once, so you’ll have plenty of time in the fighting chair and no excuse to take the belt off. A Typical Costa Rican lunch is served on board with the crew. Any catch that you can keep we can filet on board and serve as ceviche and sashimi, grill on our Gas Grill, or pack it to-go to cook at a local restaurant for dinner. This is the ideal trip for the Big Game Fisherman.
